Tel-A-Care Ministry was originally formed in 1989 to minister to the lonely and hurting, our main focus being prisons and nursing homes. Operating only by word-of-mouth, in just a short time we compiled a list of nearly 1,000 names of patients or inmates around America who received no mail or correspondence and were basically alone. We reached out to them through a monthly newsletter and by sending them a card on their birthday or other special occasion. Our goal was simple, and was conveyed in our slogan, "Telling the Good News, God really does care about you." In 1999, we launched our web site telacare-ministry.org which was later changed to jesuscaresaboutyou.net. Through the wonder of the internet, our outreach went around the world touching lives in such hard to reach places as Saudi Arabia, Macedonia, and the remote island nation of Vanuatu. During it's peak, the site reached 35,000 unique visitors each month, distributed hundreds of Bibles and books, and received many reports of salvation and changed lives.

Within the body of Christ is a "pool of Bethesda," a plethora of hurting and lonely people, a body who longs for Christ more than anything else, and who has grown weary with the lack of substance found within most modern churches.
